Small Business Capital Expenditures Slid in September

U.S. small business optimism was little changed in September as firms dialed back their capital spending plans. 

According to the NFIB, the share of small firms planning capital expenditures slid by 5 points to 19%, the lowest reading since April 2023. 

What does this mean for the Volatility GapTM? We’ll have to wait and see.
