Why are the Big Players Rushing to Borrow?

Two factors are driving a push to borrow right now: uncertainty related to the upcoming U.S. election and how that will guide the economy, and the Fed’s promise to continue decreasing interest rates in the months ahead.

As a result, everything from small to large companies, as well as cities and even states are rushing to borrow funds due to fears of losing access to capital markets and the economic uncertainty..

Sales of bonds, loans, and asset-backed securities have reached historic highs, with significant volumes raised in a short period.

This acceleration is largely due to concerns about future conditions in the market, similar in many ways to the uncertainty experienced during the 2020 pandemic. Considering the anticipated increase in volatility due to the upcoming November election, heightened activity in the debt markets is expected
